ABOUT US
The Texas Society of Genetic Counselors was created to encourage the development and growth of the profession of genetic counseling; to unite the genetic counseling community and those interested in genetic counseling; to foster and promote communication within the genetic counseling profession; to disseminate information to its members and the general public pertaining to genetic counseling and human genetics; to represent and further the professional interests of genetic counselors; generally to be responsive to issues related to the field of human genetics. The vision and mission of an organization is important. TSGC's Executive Board and Professional Issues Committee are engaged in thoughtful discussion about our society's current direction and future goals. We hope to develop a vision and mission for our organization that will encompass the varied interests of our members and serve as a beacon for our future endeavors. If you are interested in working on the Vision and Mission Development Project, please contact Claire Singletary at claire.singletary@uth.tmc.edu. It our goal to have proposed vision and mission statements available for review at the NSGC 2008 AEC in Los Angeles, CA.
