TSGC MEMBERSHIP

 

Professional members are key to our organization’s success.   As a professional member you can take pride in lending your support to TSGC.  Your participation enables us to develop sound positions, advocate for continued recognition and support, work with public policy markers on issues of importance to the genetic counseling profession, and educate healthcare sectors and the public.  These endeavors help focus potential supporters on the importance of quality genetics services.

Professional members are individuals within the genetics and other healthcare sectors who are committed to promoting the provision of quality genetic counseling services in Texas.  Annual membership dues vary with membership categories, these dues are applied to organizational activities that allow your TSGC to provide these outstanding benefits to its members.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

 

FULL MEMBERSHIP - $30/year 

PRIVILEGES:

Full members may vote, hold office and chair committees

ELIGIBILITY:

Must Live or Work in Texas Plus meet 1 of the following a) MS or PhD in human genetics or genetic counseling OR b) MS or PhD in related field such as nursing, social work or public health and have a broad range of training and 3 years primary experience in genetic counseling.

 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - $20/year

PRIVILEGES:

Associate Members may attend meetings, but can not vote or serve on Board of Directors. 

An Associate Member can serve on committees, but can not chair committees.

ELIGIBILITY:

All other applicants who are a) health care providers OR b) whose interests focus on genetic counseling but are not eligible for full or student membership.

 

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP - no fee

PRIVILEGES:

Students have same privileges as associate members.

ELIGIBILITY:

All applicants currently enrolled in a graduate degree genetic counseling program or track - in any state.

 

EMERITUS MEMBERSHIP - no fee

PRIVILEGES:

Emeritus members may serve on committees, but can not vote.

ELIGIBILITY:

All full members who have retired and who have been a member of TSGC in good standing for a minimum of 10 years.
